Brighton Fringe

England's largest arts festival in one of our favourite cities sounds to good to miss. Brighton Fringe is the largest open-access arts festival in England. It is an international festival that is at the same time rooted in the community. It embraces every art form and every form of artistic expression, and supports both new and established performers in trying out new work and taking risks.

Bluebell Woods

If you go down to the woods today your in for a blue surprise. It is that time of year when the forest floor becomes a carpet of blue, with that unmistakable scent. Taking a walk amongst the bluebells is our kind of weekend fun. A treat for all of the senses. Visit the National Trust or the Woodland Trust for details of which woods near you will be open.

Chelsea Flower Show

Whilst we are on the flower theme - the world's greatest flower show - Chelsea - also takes place this month featuring garden designs from the very best in the business. The stunning displays never fail to disappoint and will have you reaching for your trowel in no time with inspiring ideas and a plethora of flowers to suit all gardens. If you can't get to the show we highly recommend the BBC's coverage (how quickly times have changed - last year it was all about Love Island!). Who knew gardening could be so fun!

What to Eat

The new season's produce really comes into its own in May. We will be digging into locally grown asparagus simply steamed with melted butter and cracked pepper. Jersey Royal potatoes are here too, a delicious side dish and we will also be enjoying the very first strawberries of the season. May, you really do spoil us!

What to Wear

In terms of your wardrobe, May is really a time to finally get out some of those more summery pieces. Easy to wear dresses paired with trainers will be our go to look this month. Look out for Riyka's gorgeous new collection, which we will be pairing with classic Vejas and throwing over a denim jacket for cooler evenings. Easy as that.
