It might still be freezing outside but the signs that spring is on its way are definitely there. From snowdrops popping up everywhere to the odd afternoon spell of sunshine that has a touch of warmth to it, we can't help but feel hopeful that winter is in its last throws. Luckily March is packed full of good things to make the time go quickly! At Gather&See we are seeing new season arrivals coming in on a daily basis meanwhile a whole host of things to do both indoors and out are cropping up from spring walks to that McQueen exhibition - if that doesn't put a spring in your step and bring you out of hibernation I don't know what will!
WHAT TO DO…
Shop Fair Trade
Althought it started in February, Fairtrade Fortnight runs on into this first week in March, meaning not only are we celebrating this ground breaking movement but you can benefit from 15% off all our Fair Trade brands. For us Fair Trade is a no-brainer. Far too many garment industry workers are underpaid and exploited. By choosing a Fair Trade piece you are guaranteed everyone involved in the production of the garment was paid a fair wage, from the farmer of the cotton to the seamstress who hand stitched the buttons. You can't say fairer than that.
WHAT TO DO…
So it might still be a touch nippy but if you wrap up warm (we recommend the last remaining Goodone Biker Jacket) and head down to the woods you will be rewarded. March is the perfect time to view glorious snowdrops, daffodils and later in the month our personal favourite blue bells as they cover woodland floors and hedgerows. Make a day of it and finish off in a nice cosy pub before heading back to the city. (Tip - tell your other half the 7 mile hike you have planned is just a short stroll! Once he gets going he'll love it, trust us!)

WHERE TO GO…
Paris In Springtime
The city of lights, love and fashion comes to life in March with the fash pack descending on its elegant boulveards for the Ready to Wear shows - there is no better time to hop on the Eurostar and enjoy a weekend a la Parisienne. Stroll along the chic left bank, chow down on some of the best food imaginable (we love L'Entrecote for steak and Laduree for afternoon tea of course!) and marvel at the extensive Louvre collections of which you can never tire. A fashion weekend in Paris would not be complete without a trip to the infamous Hotel Costes where you can dine al fresco in its heated courtyard surrounded by A-listers, models and the rest of the fashion glitterati.
WHAT TO WEAR...
Layer It Up - Transeasonal Tricks!
Inbetween freezing showers and grey days you do get the odd sunny day in March. We say make the most of it and indulge your new season cravings by cleverly layering transitional pieces. Denim comes into its own at this time of year so be sure to upgrade to our bum-lifting Nobody jeans which form the basis of the layered look. From there add to your hearts content - from beautiful Osei Duro tanks and silks to billowing Beaumont Organic loose shirts. Cover up with a From Somewhere knit and our favourite Anne Gorke Parka and you are good to go. March never looked so stylish (and practical!)
