The March Issue

There is so much going on in March, from St Patricks Day to Easter not to mention the excitement of new season products arriving at G&S. Let us guide you through what not to miss this month.

WHAT TO DO…

Celebrate Womankind & Support Fair Trade Fortnight

With Mother's Day and International Women's Day both taking place this month March is all about strong women and female empowerment. The fashion industry is built upon the hard work of strong women all around the world - the majority of garment industry workers are women many of whom are underpaid and overexploited. Fair Trade Fortnight highlights the importance of Fair Trade and the difference it can make. Choose fair trade to guarantee a fairer deal for the farmers, garment workers and designers who produce your clothing. Brands like Kowtow, Osei Duro and A Peace Treaty are leading the way. To get you going we are offering 10% Off for Fair Trade Fortnight with promocode 'Fair10' at checkout.

Fair Trade Fortnight: 29th February - 13th March

WHERE TO GO…

Dublin

You can't mention March without mentioning St Patrick's day so we are taking inspiration from the Emerald Isle for our where to travel this month. Dublin makes a great Spring weekend destination - find a hip apartment through Air BnB, and then head into the city centre to sample some of the famous Irish 'craic'. Head to The Fade Street Social for delicious food and great people watching and then for a little culture visit the James Joyce Centre to find out about Dublin's most famous literary son. And of course a visit wouldn't be complete without a pint of Guinness right on the river Liffey, if you can make it for St Patrick's Day itself you will be in for one awsome time.

WHAT TO EAT....

Considering Easter comes at the end of the month it would be remiss not to mention chocolate! Of course it has to be fair trade and with the highest percent cocoa content possible. We love particularly love Green & Blacks, Seed and Bean and Cocoa Loco. Whichever you choose it will be sure to taste amazing in Irish food blogger Susie O'Connell's delicious chocolate muffin recipe - check out her insanely inspiring instagram account for lots of yummy and healthy recipes.

WHAT TO WEAR...

We are finally starting to think Spring!! Take inspiration from nature and Spring's wild flower colours - palettes of greens, blues, yellows and pinks - just what we need to brighten up our wardrobe. New Swedish brand Maska's gorgeous silk print's will see you right through to summer meanwhile Carla Colour's oh-so-pretty pink sunglasses will be sure to put you in the right frame of mind for March.
