As we approach the summer solstice make the most of the long days and light evenings with our June issue inspirations. If this doesn't get you in the mood for summer we don't know what will.
WHAT TO DO…
Wake Up and Smell the Roses
We just love fresh flowers. From peonies to roses to our current favouirte sweet peas - the colours and fragrance of a pretty posy provide an instant mood lifter. Nothing beats a wonder through Colombia Road flower market for inspiration or for a botanical education and day out head to Kew Gardens. We also love Petersham Nurseries for elegant dining amidst the most beautiful vines, hydrangeas and lavender. Just gorgeous.

Take a Dip
The long, warmer days have us hankering for the sharp rush that you get from an outdoor swim. Whilst we might be dreaming of the idea of jumping of craggy rocks in a quiet cove somewhere there are a few more accesible options closer to home. Hampsted Ponds offers natural freshwater pools in the middle of Hampsted Heath - perfect for nature lovers. Meanwhile the Serpentine Lido features openwater swimming, a child friendly padling pool and deckchairs for those warm summer days. South Londoners can head to the elegant Art Deco Brockwell Lido (fondly known as Brixton Beach) for a swim and a coffee in the cafe. So get your bikini out - for the best see our collection of Lalesso beauties - and dive in.
WHAT TO SEE…
The True Cost
Everyone should see this film. Directed by Andrew Morgan, The True Cost documentary delves into the fashion industry headfirst and uncovers, in a very personal way, the devastating effects that the billion dollar fast fashion industry can have. You will be baffled at the blindingly obvious wholesale changes that need to be made in the industry and how we have let it get this far. Hollywood movie Mogul Harvey Weinstein exclaimed at the LA premiere that this film will "Shock the fashion industry" and we hope it does. You simply can't watch this film and approach fashion in ths same way again.
Cannot recommend it enough.

WHERE TO GO…
June is the perfect time for mediterranean island hopping. Island life is always that much slower, that bit more relaxed and that bit more beautiful. Two of our favourites are Majorca for turqouise waters, divine food and white coves and Greece's relatively unknown, fig scented tiny island, Folegandros. Majorca has long been a favourite with fashionable Europeans and you can find some amazing retreats within reach of that amazing coastline. Son Jamuell is top of our list for gorgeous interiors and delicious food. Meanwhile over in Greece you have to make an effort to get to Folegandros - the only way is ferry from neibouring Santorini or from the Mainland. But boy is it worth it. The staggering scenery is overlooked by an impressive peak topped with the prettiest white chapel you have ever seen whilst the island's only town is a picturesque delight with plenty of romantic al fresco cafes and restaurants in the main square. Feast on fresh fish under the stars. Heaven.
