2. WIMBLEDON

Oh we love Wimbledon. Of course centre court tickets would be the dream but in all honesty we are quite happy to watch the action on the box with the windows open and a big bowl of strawberries and cream. A Pimms would be great too....Game. Set. Match.

3. VAN GOUGH & BRITAIN AT TATE BRITAIN

This is a great summer exhibition with Van Gough's summery Provencal scenes  and the infamous Sunflowers even making an appearance. Van Gogh and Britain presents the largest collection of Van Gough's paintings in the UK for nearly a decade. Some of his most famous works will be brought together from around the world in addition to many pieces by artists inspired by him.

4. MUSEUM OF THE MOON AT THE NATIONAL HISTORY MUSEUM

A great one for the kids once the school holidays kick in. An art installation by Luke Jerram, the Moon has been circling the globe since 2016. It's at the Museum in time for the fiftieth anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing, accompanied by events for space enthusiasts of all ages.

5. WHAT TO EAT

There is something about cooking and, of course, eating al fresco that is so magical. It wouldn't be summer with a good old BBQ and we'll be grilling plenty of fresh fish, vegetables and halloumi served with Ottolenghi inspired salads. For pudding it is all about fresh fruit - with strawberries and raspberries now in season - pick your own for the most rewarding dessert.

6. WHAT TO WEAR

Summer dresses for days. Pink City Prints have proven particularly popular thanks to their flattering, feminine shapes and gorgeous traditional Indian block printing on organic cotton. It is also time to focus on swimwear - with gorgeous new arrivals from Stidston in bold prints and bright colours catching our eye.
