As far as we are concerned April is THE month for ethical fashion at Gather&Seel! Not only is it Earth Month, it is also Fashion Revolution Day when we highlight the importance of a more accountable and sustainable fashion industry and with some out of this world beautiful new season pieces coming in for SS15 there has never been a better time to shout about our amazing ethical brands. On top of that the weather is warming up, we are starting to think about our summer wardrobes and there is a whole host of things to do at home and abroad. That is why we love April. Fun packed ethical fashion madness - step right in!
WHAT TO DO…
Join the Revolution and ask Who Made My Clothes?
April 24th marks the second anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory in Bangladesh where 1133 people were killed and over 2500 were injured. Social and environmental catastrophes in our fashion supply chains continue and Fashion Revolution says enough is enough. Leading up to this anniversary we will be asking the question "Who Made My Clothes?" and delving deep into the core values of Gather&See and behind our brands to meet the people who really do make your clothes. On the 24th we will be turning our clothes inside out as a stand of solidarity with garment industry workers the world over. Get involved and ask your favourite brands the question #WhoMadeMyClothes? #FashRev

Celebrate Earth Month
April is also Earth Month culminating in Earth Day on April 22nd which is all about highlighting the fragile state of our precious earth and campaigning to protect it. Scientists warn us that climate change could accelerate beyond our control, threatening our survival and everything we love. Earth Day is a call to action to keep global temperature rise under the unacceptably dangerous level of 2 degrees C, by phasing out carbon pollution to zero. The campaign is also targetting 2 Billion Acts of Green - if we all make a change the positive difference can be enormous. In support of Earth Month Gather&See will be showcasing our Eco-Friendly and Organic brands, showing exactly how our fashion choices can effect the environment.

Dior & I
If you love fashion this is a MUST see film. Director Frederic Tcheng followed Raf Simmons leading up to his very first Haute Couture Dior Show in July 2012 giving the viewer a fascinating insight into the world of one of the most famous and iconic couture houses of all time and the pressures on the newly appointed Artistic Director. The swoon worthy gowns would be enough to get our mouths watering but the additional insights into the incredible seamstresses who work on them is equally inspiring. Pure and unadulturated haute couture pleasure on the big screen - it is as close as pretty much any of us will get to the real thing!
At cinemas from March 27th. Here is the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUIvJQUhB5I
WHERE TO GO…
Barcelona has been a long time favourite city of ours. With its inimitable architecture, colourful markets, dreamy beaches and outrageously good food and nightlife there is really nothing not to love. On top of that it is such a creative, forward thinking city which makes it hardly surprising that it is home to one of our favourite ethical brands, Cus. Proudly Catalan, you can see the influences of this inspiring city in the brand's spring summer collection which goes live this month. April is a fantastic time to visit Barcelona with the temperature gently rising but before the crowds arrive. Be sure to check out Gaudi's famous Sagrada Familia, take a stroll down Las Ramblas and chill out in the other worldly Park Guell before getting your fill of art at the famous Picasso museum. Gastronomic delights can be found on every corner as well as great bars. If you want to splurge go for a meal or a drink at the Mandarin Oriental's Mimosa Garden restaurant - Al Fresco dining perfection.
WHAT TO WEAR...
We have a good feeling about this April - with March being so cold its got to get a whole lot warmer, so we are going for colour mixed with denims and layers (just in case we see the odd April shower!). Osei Duro's bold prints work perfectly - the Muto Mini and Desine Skirts can be worn with or without tights and the colours are refreshing. New brand Della will be in soon offering light cotton swing dresses and tanks that can be layered up and have that LA cool girl freshness to them. Meanwhile the lovely Upstate collection is now in with eye catching silks in spring hues such as pink and sky blue. Get in there now!
