This month's Gather&See girl is none other than Julia Rebaudo, blogger extraordinaire at Stylonylon. We are delighted to have such a stylish fashionista sharing her experiences with us. Enjoy!
What or who inspires you?
The world around me! I spend my life gazing into the middle distance – searching for pleasing colours, shapes, looks and style. People-watching is an endless source of fascination as it can spark endless thoughts and ideas. And, of course, I find a lot – too much! – inspiration on Instagram these days. Bloggers, designers, artists, musicians…
What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
Buy a second hand camera. That was a few years ago. I never thought I would take up photography in my 30s having never been into it before! How wrong I was…
What advice would you give your teenage self?
Go slowly. You don’t need to grow up so fast. Everything will still be there waiting for you!
What makes you angry?
What makes you happy?
Me, my son and husband all bundled up in the same bed.
What’s your favourite restaurant?
I’ll never say no to Bistroteque!
Where’s your go to place to relax?
My yoga mat and a 20-minute session.
Latest discovery at home or abroad?
I’ve just bought myself a photo printer – finally I can start making all those photo albums I’ve been planning!
Where is on your travel hit list for 2015?
We’re off to Växjö in Sweden, Marrakech, Istanbul and hopefully the Maldives this year! Crazy times…
Which city in the world would you love to live in for just 1 year?
It’d have to be Sydney. Morning yoga on beach, incredible food, the fun and the parties…
Which is your favourite piece on the G&S website at the moment?
The Lalesso Ajabu dress is an absolute stunner!
What is your personal style?
It’s mainly denim based, comfort-driven and more and more minimal with the odd stripe and splash of colour.
Who is your fashion hero / style icon?
Which item of clothing do you most treasure?
An absolutely falling apart pair of boyfriend jeans which are so torn up at the front you can see a whole lotta leg!
What is your 'can't live without' beauty product?
Facial oils – I need them to keep the dryness away. I love Indie Lee’s Lavender Oil (and practically everything stocked on eco-luxe beauty site A Beautiful World!)
Why is shopping ethical important to you?
Nobody really wants to wear clothes that have harmed someone or something along the way. Shopping ethically is a statement of intent and a way to populate your wardrobe with pieces that are meaningful and for the long-term.
