Festival season is now in full swing with thousands of music fans having descended on Worthy Farm in deepest darkest Somerset for a weekend of great brands, revelry and just possibly the slightest bit of rain. Glastonbury may be the big banana but with so many other festivals taking place all over the country and in Europe throughout the summer Festival Season has become MASSIVE. No wonder ‘Festival Style’ has become an entire trend in itself. I say trend, but the beauty if festival style is basically about embracing a free spirit – going for that extra bit of colour, a few more sequins, fringing and feathers. Really, anything goes.
Despite this some key looks keep coming around every year - Kate Moss has to answer for the massive number of tinyshorts and Hunter welly combos – despite her debuting that look way back in 2005 the outfit has become a fail safe option for many a skinny blonde. Various incarnations of 70’s flower child, glittery glam rock and 80’s punk will always appeal to the Festival set - some of the best outfits being a mix and match of everything. For once this really is a case of more is better!
So without further ado here are Gather&See’s top style tips for this Festival Season:
1) TYE DYES FROM UPSTATE
Soft silks, loose shapes and soft tye dye effects make the Tilden T, Silk V and Wilson Jumpsuit from Upstate great choices.
2) AZTEC DRESS FROM BHALO
The Thornflower dress from Bhalo has an Aztec feel to it – bright colours and geometric shapes with a flared out shape.
3) GRUNGE FROM OSEI DURO
Cropped Osei Duro tops in black and matchstick print go with EVERYTHING. Add black eyeliner and attitude.
4) FIERCE JEWELLERY FROM A PEACE TREATY
Our favourite earrings – studded hoops and triangular green and gold beauties.
5) THE ULTIMATE COVER UP - ANNE GORKE PARKA
Lets face it, you are going to get wet. So at least look cool doing it.
6) THE SAVING GRACE – FINLAY&Co Sunnies
The Bosworth style are super cool and will hide all signs of the night before!
